Red Bull's three-time world champion Max Verstappen secures victory against Lando Norris in Barcelona, extending his championship lead.
Red Bull’s three-time world champion Max Verstappen triumphed at the Spanish Grand Prix, defeating McLaren’s pole-sitter Lando Norris, thus enhancing his lead in the world championship.
Lewis Hamilton secured third place at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, marking the first podium of the season for Mercedes' seven-time former champion on Sunday.
The competition may be closer than in the last couple of seasons, but Verstappen always manages to deliver when it counts the most.
This victory marks his 61st career win, his seventh in this season, and the fourth win on the very track where he first made his mark in Formula One (F1) as a teenager in 2016.
Verstappen now tops the F1 drivers’ championship leaderboard with 219 points. Norris ascends to second in the standings with 150 points, surpassing Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who holds 148 points.
