Francesco Bagnaia secures another victory at the Dutch Motorcycle Grand Prix, closing in on championship leader Jorge Martin.
Francesco Bagnaia secured his third consecutive victory at the Dutch MotoGP, narrowing the championship gap with leader Jorge Martin to just 10 points in his pursuit of a third consecutive world title.
Bagnaia's Ducati teammate, Enea Bastianini, also stood on the podium at Assen on Sunday.
Polesitter Bagnaia dominated the race from start to finish, showcasing flawless riding skills. Following his triumph in Saturday's sprint race, he expressed his satisfaction with the weekend's performance and the team's precision.
The Italian rider broke the Assen track record twice during the weekend, emphasizing Ducati's dominance in the manufacturer's championship standings with the fifth full Ducati podium in a row.
Although Martin attempted to challenge Bagnaia throughout the race and closed in on the leader, he ultimately finished 3.68 seconds behind the Italian. Martin acknowledged his efforts but admitted he had nothing left towards the end of the race.
The battle for third place was intense, with Bastianini ultimately clinching the position ahead of Maverick Vinales and other competitors. The riders now prepare for the upcoming German MotoGP at Sachsenring.
In the current MotoGP World Championship standings, Martin leads with 200 points after eight rounds, closely followed by Bagnaia with 190 points and Marquez with 149.
