British police locate the suspect involved in the tragic killings of a BBC journalist's wife and daughters, providing details of the investigation and the suspect's condition.
British police have located the individual suspected of murdering the wife and two daughters of a well-known BBC radio commentator in a disturbing crossbow attack near London.
Hertfordshire Police disclosed that Kyle Clifford, 26 years old, was discovered in the Enfield area in north London, close to his residence. He is currently undergoing medical treatment for his injuries, with the police confirming no shots were fired in the process.
The BBC identified the victims as the family of radio racing commentator John Hunt - his wife Carol Hunt, aged 61, and their daughters Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28.
DI Justine Jenkins stated that the investigation is progressing swiftly, with the victims yet to be officially identified. The premature disclosure of their names caused significant distress.
The major crime unit from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire noted that no other suspects are being pursued presently in connection with the case. Detective Inspector Jenkins emphasized the need for privacy for the grieving family.
Chief Superintendent Jon Simpson described the incident as "horrific," mentioning the involvement of a crossbow and potentially other weapons. The suspect, Clifford, hails from London, and it remains unclear if he has a link to the victims.
John Hunt, renowned for his horse-racing commentary on BBC radio, discovered the tragic scene upon returning home from Lingfield Park racecourse near London.
Notably, crossbows are legally owned in the UK without the need for a license.
