Israeli attacks hindering Gaza talks, Hamas claims

Hamas accuses Netanyahu of impeding negotiations for a truce and captive release amid renewed mediation efforts.

Hamas alleges that the escalating assaults by Israel throughout the Gaza Strip are hindering efforts to conclude the war and has accused Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, of creating barriers to the negotiations.

Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, cautioned on Monday about the dire repercussions of the situation in Gaza, suggesting that it could reset the negotiation process back to its initial stage.

Netanyahu and the Israeli military will be held fully accountable for the breakdown of these talks, as per Haniyeh's statements cited by Hamas.

According to the statement, Haniyeh urgently contacted mediators from Qatar and Egypt regarding the expanding operations of the Israeli military, which issued additional evacuation orders for areas in Gaza City, displacing numerous Palestinians.

Israel directed immediate evacuations in various neighborhoods of Gaza City, including Tuffah, Daraj, and the Old City.

In a separate declaration, Hamas accused Netanyahu of intensifying his hostilities against the Palestinian population in an effort to forcibly displace them and obstruct any agreement.

Al Jazeera's correspondent mentioned that many Palestinians were reluctant to evacuate to the center of the Gaza Strip due to overcrowding in the region resulting from numerous displacements.

A significant portion of Gaza's population has been displaced, with hundreds of thousands residing in congested tent camps.

Israeli tanks advanced into the heart of Gaza City following extensive bombardment, prompting the military to evacuate residents after claiming the areas had been previously cleared.

Residents reported intense air strikes and artillery assaults, which were regarded by many as some of the most severe attacks in months of conflict.

The Israeli military alleged the presence of Hamas and PIJ fighters in Gaza City and instructed residents to relocate south to Deir el-Balah.

The military operations extended to Shujayea, where troops reportedly demolished schools and a clinic.

As the Israeli military expanded its ground operations in Shujayea, residents faced challenges evacuating amid artillery shelling and airstrikes.

Further evacuation notices were given for the Rimal neighborhood in central Gaza City.

Amid the latest Israeli offensive, mediation efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the US aim to broker a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

Hamas dropped the condition for a permanent ceasefire before signing an agreement, while Netanyahu's office emphasized Israel's resolve to achieve all war objectives.

Despite ongoing disputes, mediators from Egypt and Qatar are scheduled to hold new discussions this week.
